eWe hosted our very own first “Fight Night” in the Marriot hotel in Novemeber 12th. This was a cracker of a show and everything went to plan. As always we had the backing of the International Kickboxing Federation(IKF) and they sanctioned and over seen it too. We also had 3 official IKF titles booked on the card also with our very own Aoife Murphy contesting for the middle weight belt. Both Aoife and her opponant weighed in the nite before but sadly her opponant didn make weight so she had 24 hours to correct the mistake. Unfortunitly she didn make the corrct IKF weight the next day leaving Aoife to win the belt by default. It wasnt the way we hoped to win the title but she is to defend that belt on our next shoe “Mayhem in Meath” on April 7th in Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa. We also had other fighters on that nite fighting in Kickboxing , Low kick and K1 rules. All PMA fighters got the wins in style and this shows just what an impact we are making in such a small time that we are open.

This was our first time to have Andy with us sence being affiliated to his Bjj Revolution Ireland Team this year. What a great seminar it was as he showed us some really good stuff and also very usefull in compitition too. Andy is a highly decorated judo player and is also a BJJ Black belt under the worldwide known Rodrigo Mederos. Andy is a two times european BJJ champion and recently took gold in the Pan Ams too. Andy was joined by Karl Roche who teaches the BJJ classes here and also recieved his brown belt from Andy a few weeks ago. This was our second seminar to host since we opened 19 months ago and to top it all off Andy gave two or our guys here there blue belts. Denis Chetrari and James gorman were over the monn with these belts and that now makes a total of 4 blue belts here at PMA. I would like to thank Andy and Karl for the seminar nd im looking forward to the future with BJJ Revolution.

This MMA show was held in the Ulster Hall up in Belfast. I got the call for this fight only a week before and our very own Aaron o Neill was only happy to take the fight. This was our very first C class fight for Aaron and also for PMA so we were under a lot of pressure but Aaron had been training hard so he was more than ready. He was up againest one of the home crowd too but i have to say the crowd were great. Aaron won by TKO in the second round and he fought with great heart and pushed the pace all the way through the fight. Big well done to Aaron on his debut and hes keen to get back in!! Im waiting on his fight video but heres a nice photo and Aaron is on the right,

This was our third time to be invited to this show and again we were very happy to travel down. Another great well ran show by the guys from Waterford International Kickboxing. We had three from PMA on the card and this was our very first girl to fight for us too so it made it a special show. Jake Voroltha, Craig merriman and Aoife murphy were our three to make the card. Craig was up first and this was a three round war with Craig winning by decision. Then Jake was up and again another very tough fight but Jake won by KO in the last round. Aoife then stepped up and won by complete domination and KO in the first minute of the fight!! All in all we were very happy with our guys and we hope to be back down there at the next show.

This show was held in the D4 hotel in ballsbridge on June 24th. The show was ran by Chris Boyne and was all in aid of cancer research so we were very happy to be on the card. Flying the PMA flag was John Murphy and Steven Callaghan. Up first was Steven who brought his opponant to a judges decision in which it went our way. It was avery tough close fight and the two lads just went at it for the 3 rounds and by a small margin Steven got the win and it was also his first fight too so we were all delighted. Next up was John and had been out of training for a few months and only returned 3 weeks before and agreed to take the fight. John ended the fight with a brutal ko in the first minute of the very first round. So that made it two out of two for us!! Great show and ran very well too so hats off to Chris and also i huge well done to our 2 fighters. Im waiting on photos of the event so ill stick them up here when i get them.

This was something i have been thinking about for a while now and i had been talking to Pete Foley who is the Chief Instructor of Black Dragon Interntional Kickboxing Galway and is also the president of the International Kickboxing Federation(IKF) here in ireland who we are affiliated too. I got my first black belt way back in 2006 so it was well over due at this stage. The whole day was non stop from start to finish as i was tested in all areas of the sport from kicking to punching, pad work, coaching skills and most of all i had some nasty fitness tests and then to top it all off i had some fights at the end with some top kickboxers and K1 fighters with very good records too. I got through the day and was awarded my certificate by Pete himself which i was delighted to get. This is truely a great sport and im very happy to be involved in it for the years i am and also the years to come. Thanks to Pete and his crew for having me down,

This show was held on June the 11th in the D4 Hotel in ballsbridge. This was our biggest show to have fighters on and there was 3 of us on the card and also it was my professional debut so there was a lot of pressure!! Myself Noel O Byrne and Dennis was back again for his third junior mma fight. Dennis was up first and won again by arm bar and also again in the first round. Noel was up then and 30minutes before the fight his oppanant said he wasnt going to fight and went home!! Disgracfull in my opinion but we just put it behind us as it was now my turn at the end of the show so out i came and won by KO in the second round. Thanks to Paul Cowzer from RFA and also to Paul Browne from Total Health Solutions and also to Karen from Herco International or sponsering me, i dont have videos yet but here is the promo video that the tv crowd did and they gave me good coverage,

This Mixed martial arts show was held on may 20th in the whitehall GAA club and we had a very late addition to the show. Dennis Chetari took the fight on two days notice and had to cut three kilos also. The show was ran by Barry Ogelsby and his team and the whole show ran like clock work to be honest, all the fights were great. This was Dennis second time inside the cage and once again he had a quick finish by submission arm bar. Here is the fight…..
